On Tuesday, the Washoe County Board of Commissioners heard a presentation from the Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority about tourism in the area.

Researchers found that Reno is becoming a more popular destination.

The Reno-Sparks Convention Center wrapped up its first season with its new indoor track, and they are expecting tourism to increase in the future.

There are already 12 track meets set for their second season, including hosting the men's and women's conference championships.

The goal is to become a national destination in the track world.

"So you know that setting records and establishing personal best times is a priority, and we truly feel that as we progress and the word continues to get out across the county about the speed of our track, that we will attract people from all over the country," said Mike Larragueta, President and CEO of the RSCVA.

The RSCVA presented multiple reports ranging from tourism in northern Nevada to how residents feel about living in the area.
