The Reno-Sparks Indian Colony is hosting their 21st annual New Year's Eve Sobriety Powwow on Tuesday night.

RSIC NYE 2

The free, family friendly event is open to all ages and everyone is invited to participate.

The party is happening from 4:00 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. at the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony Gym at 34 Reservation Road, Building B.

The event aims to ring in the new year with drums, songs, and rounding dancing; focusing on passing cultural practices from one generation to the next.

During the powwow, Indigenous artists will be selling handmade beadwork, quill work, silverwork, paintings, native-style clothing and traditional food.

All attendees can participate in a raffle for door prizes, a cake walk, a sobriety chip giveaway and more.

The event is organized by the RSIC Powwow Committee and sponsored by Reno-Sparks Indian Colony, Reno-Sparks Tribal Health Center, Travel Nevada and Nevada's Indian Territory.
