The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County is continuing with their Neighborhood Network Plan, focusing soon on central Sparks.
The aim of the upcoming informational events is to open up communication with residents of central Sparks to help improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists in the area.
According to RTC Senior Technical Planner Marquis Williams, "We want to hear from residents, business owners, and our community about gaps in the sidewalk, problems safely crossing the road, unsafe bicycle conditions and other safety concerns."
The RTC will be holding three Neighborhood Network Plan events in the next weeks:
- A Community Workshop will be held on January 29 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Sparks High School.
- A Pop-Up Information Booth will be hosted at Lighthouse Coffee Shop at the Sparks Marina on February 22 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
- A second Pop-Up Information Booth will be hosted at the El Rancho Flea Market on March 9 from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
RTC has also set up a webpage where the public can submit comments through the middle of March. You can find that page on the RTC Washoe website.
