Secured Campus status has been lifted at North Valleys High School, and the school has resumed normal operations.

The district sent out the following Connect Ed Call: 

Good morning, North Valleys High School

This is Principal Tomas Macaluso.

"I am emailing today to share important information with you: we discovered a possible threat received via phone at our school today. We have notified school police, and officers are investigating. So far, we have found no evidence of a credible threat.

Here at the school district, and at North Valleys High School, safety and security are our highest priority. We take such rumors seriously and investigate each one. Our students have been proactive in reporting information to us, and we appreciate it. Please remind your students not to circulate unfounded rumors on any social media sites. Making threats is illegal, and the persons responsible for this can be prosecuted for their actions.

We are following all safety protocols on campus, which we practice regularly. Classes were held as usual today, and teaching and learning will continue tomorrow in our classrooms."

Previous Story

North Valleys High School was placed on secured campus status on Wednesday morning, according to school police.

Officials said the status was put in place at 10:17 a.m.

No additional details were immediately provided.

“Per Washoe County School District School Police, North Valleys High School has been placed in a Secured Campus. There is no further information at this time.
