A recent alcohol compliance check performed on a group of businesses in Reno and Sparks resulted in seven businesses failing the check.
The Reno Police Department, Sparks Police Department, and WCSD Police Department worked with Join Together Northern Nevada and underage volunteers to check a total of 16 businesses.
In each check, the volunteer provided their actual ID if they were asked for it, which indicated that they were underage.
The seven businesses that failed the check served or sold alcohol to the volunteer.
The local businesses that passed the check and refused to serve or sell alcohol to a minor are:
- Star Liquor - Sparks
- Sunny E Cig & Liquor - Sparks
- Prater Liquor & Smoke Shop - Sparks
- Citi Mart - Sparks
- Veno's Mart - Reno
- Golden Gate Gas - Reno
- USA Gas Mart - Reno
- Our Bar - Reno
- Red Rock Bar - Reno
The businesses that failed the check and served or sold alcohol to an underage volunteer are:

- Around the Corner Liquor - Sparks
- Fair Deal Liquor - Sparks
- PK Liquor & Smoke - Sparks
- Shop N'Go - Reno
- Best Liquor - Reno
- Lucky Pub - Reno
Officials say the goal of the Reno, Sparks and WCSD Police and JTNN is to create a fun and safe environment for all ages, while ensuring that alcohol is only served to those of age.
