Today the City of Sparks Fire Department hosted their 34th annual Pancake Breakfast at Fire Station Four.

This year is the first year the event was hosted at Fire Station Four, but the message for the breakfast was still the same.

"It's one where we get to interact with the community we serve. They get to meet their firefighters," said Walt White, Fire Chief with the Sparks Fire Department. "We get to demonstrate a little bit about our job and share with them public safety messages."

Sparks City Councilmembers, firefighters and staff were on-hand to serve pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs, juice, milk and coffee.

The pancake breakfast also included the jaws of life used for vehicle extractions, fire station tours and many educational displays.

Kids were also able to get their picture taken with Sparky the fire dog.
