Residents now have a new way to see how their local government is performing after the City of Sparks launched an online performance dashboard designed to provide a clearer picture of city services and operations.

According to the City of Sparks, the dashboard brings together key performance measures from multiple departments, including Police, Fire, Human Resources, Information Technology and Community Services. More department performance measures are expected to be added over the next few months.

Much of the information is updated in real time, giving residents access to the latest available data. Users can also customize what they see by selecting different time periods to compare trends and department performance over time.

The dashboard includes metrics such as Police and Fire emergency response times, hiring and recruitment statistics, building permit activity, customer service performance and other operational data. It also measures each department against established performance targets so residents can see where goals are being met and where improvement efforts are underway.

"Our new performance dashboard reflects our commitment to transparency and accountability," said Sparks City Manager Dion Louthan. "Residents deserve to know how their government is performing and how we're working every day to provide high-quality services. This dashboard gives our community a clear, data-driven look at our progress."

City officials said the dashboard was developed to give residents greater insight into municipal operations and a better understanding of the services their local government provides. By making performance data publicly available, the city aims to build trust, improve accountability and support informed decision-making.

Residents can access the performance dashboard through the city's website or the My Sparks app.
