Oscar Urbina-Acosta has been sentenced to 45 years to life, with lifetime supervision.

Urbina must also register as a sex offender.

ORIGINAL STORY

The Washoe County District Attorney's office has released that 25-year old Oscar Urbina-Acosta of Sparks has been convicted of sexual assault against a child under 14 years and lewdness with a child under the age of 14.

The Sparks Police Department were called into an incident in October of 2020 regarding sexual abuse with a minor.

The victim was a 12-year old girl known to Urbina, and she disclosed that he had sexually abused her two times that evening. The first incident happened in the house where Urbina lived with the victim and her family, and the second incident in an alley in the same neighborhood.

Sentencing is set before the Honorable Judge Lynne Jones for September 19th. Urbina faces life in prison.
