The Sparks Police Department and Sparks Fire Department worked together to combat issues with illegal fireworks on New Year's Eve.

Throughout the night two Sparks Police officers and Sparks Fire prevention staff patrolled the city and contacted multiple people after fireworks were observed in use or calls for service related to fireworks were made.

In a release, Sparks Police say they got 26 calls for service, issued five written warnings, three verbal warnings, and wrote one citation.

Throughout the night, 67 fireworks were confiscated.
