Throughout July, Spread the Word Nevada, with help from the Washoe County Sheriff's Office and the Reno and Sparks Police Departments, collected books for children in the community
The organization says it collected 185 books during July.

The Reno and Sparks Police Departments and the Washoe County Sheriff's Office are partnering with Spread the Word Nevada to hold a children's book drive this month.
Throughout the month of July, folks can donate children's books at the Reno Police Department's main station lobby, or the Sparks Police Department located at 1701 East Prater Way.
Books can also be donated at the sheriff's office at 911 Parr Boulevard and the Washoe County Office at 1001 East 9th Street.
Donated books will go directly to children in the community,
Spread the Word Nevada is a nonprofit that aims to help children learn to read by providing books to low-income households.
