Friday marked graduation day for hundreds at the University of Nevada, Reno, and many graduates told us the moment hasn't fully sunk in yet.
They say the excitement and nervousness for the future is all they can think about.
However, they are relieved to be past the hard part and are looking forward to the free time they will now have available.
Some say they'll be focusing on preparing for the job hunt ahead of them, after a small break.
Ariel Van Cleve, a spring graduate of the University, told us, "Right now, I'm going to be taking the summer off. Relaxing bit, but eventually I'd like to get a job with a local newspaper, perhaps. I want to stay here in Northern Nevada and work in print journalism."
Family members of the graduates say whatever the grads want after graduation is okay with them.
Whether it's taking a break or getting right to work. They say they've worked really hard to get here and deserve to follow their hearts.
We also spoke to some students who have plans for grad school.
Ella Buell, who also graduated this spring, said, "Right now I'm working as a physical therapy technician. And so I'm hoping, you know, with those hours of experience, it helped me get into a physical therapy school here for grad school. My doctor is in physical therapy."
For many, this moment is bigger than just themselves.
They say they're the first of their family to graduate from college, and the excitement is unmatched.
Mayra Gonzalez told us, "They're super excited, especially since I'm the first child, and so I'm very excited, especially as a Latina. It's very exciting.”
