STEP2 a non-profit treatment center for women struggling with substance use disorder welcomed its 5,000th resident into its program.

STEP2 says this marks a significant milestone in the organization's mission of breaking the cycle of addiction and violence in families by empowering women to build and maintain a clean and sober life.

The non-profit says it has been serving around 200 women per year for the last 38 years, providing a safe, supportive space and evidence-based comprehensive care programs covering every aspect of a woman's sobriety journey, including trauma recovery, domestic violence education, employment, and childcare assistance. It equips women with the tools they need to get clean and sober and create lasting change.

They say participants remain in the program anywhere from nine to 15 months.

STEP2 says that each life touched through the treatment program contributes to a healthier and stronger community.

“Here’s to continued impact and shared compassion for the next 5,000 women at STEP2,” added Hutchinson.
