A community-focused event centered on dementia awareness and support is scheduled to take place in Storey County this summer, bringing together residents and local partners.
According to Storey County in an online post, the Dementia Friendly Nevada Kickoff Party will feature opportunities to meet organizers, learn about the group's goals for the year ahead, and explore ways to get involved.
The event is designed to bring together community members, caregivers, partners and advocates to learn about upcoming projects, connect with others focused on dementia awareness and discuss efforts to build a more informed and supportive community.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, July 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Piper's Opera House. Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP by June 30 by calling (775)847-0957.
