A suspect wanted on multiple weapons charges out of Las Vegas was arrested alongside others at a downtown Reno motel on Friday afternoon.
It happened around 2:50 p.m. at the Easy 8 Motel on 5th Street, according to a release from the Reno Police Department.
Detectives from the Regional Crime Suppression Unit, with help from Reno SWAT, served a search warrant after getting information that the suspect, 25-year-old Keelan Benson, was in the Reno area.
While performing surveillance, detectives observed multiple drug transactions happening at Benson's motel room, according to the release.
After seeing this, a warrant was applied for and granted.
When serving the warrant, detectives ordered Benson and other occupants to exit the room, but they refused.
Reno SWAT was then called to the scene and successfully took Benson and the other occupants into custody without further incident.
The other occupants of the room are not identified in the release, but face various charges, including possession of stolen property and obstructing and resisting a peace officer.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to call the Reno Police Department's non-emergency line at (775) 334-2677.
