Three suspects have been arrested following a multi-agency investigation into recent shootings in the area.
The Crime Gun Intelligence Center, working with the Regional Crime Suppression Unit, the Reno Police Department, and Real Time Information Center operators with the newly formed Reno-Sparks Regional Intelligence Service, conducted the investigation on February 10, according to a release from the Reno Police Department.
Through their work, as well as the use of the Ballistics IQ evidence analysis system, suspect information was gathered that linked the three people arrested not only to multiple shootings, but also several stolen vehicles and an attempted armed robbery.
The suspects were found at an apartment complex and taken into custody with the help of the RPD SWAT team.
43-year-old Phillip Acosta was arrested on charges including three counts of ex-felon in possession of a firearm, discharge a firearm from a moving vehicle, and possession of a controlled substance, identified in the release as 41 grams of fentanyl and 59 grams of MDMA.
26- year-old Kyle Duncan was arrested on charges including three counts of ex-felon in possession of a firearm, discharge a firearm from a moving vehicle, carry a concealed weapon without a permit, assault with a deadly weapon, shooting into a moving vehicle, two counts of grand larceny - motor vehicle, destruction of property, parole violation, and possession of a controlled substance, identified in the release as 1.66 grams of fentanyl and 1.82 grams of MDMA.
21-year-old Sebastian Maynez was arrested on charges including two counts of ex-felon in possession of a firearm, discharge a firearm from a moving vehicle, a fugitive from justice warrant out of California, and possession of a controlled substance, identified in the release as 41 grams of fentanyl and 59 grams of MDMA.
