Four firefighters from the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District are supporting efforts to contain the Gifford Fire northeast of Santa Maria, California.
Captain David Curns, Engineer Austin Rauh, Firefighter/Paramedic Michael Lingenfelter, and Firefighter Anthony Ferreira are part of the team responding to the wildfire, which has burned 125,000 acres and is 37 percent contained. Authorities say more than 800 structures are currently threatened.
In a Facebook post, the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District wished the firefighters, “Good luck gentlemen, and return home safe.”
