What started with damage at a community pool has now expanded into a broader investigation.
On Feb. 28, the Carson City Sheriff's Office arrested two juveniles in connection with vandalism at the Carson City Aquatic Center. Deputies said the arrests were carried out by the Special Enforcement Team working with the patrol division.
Investigators say the two children are suspected of damaging the facility, though the case may reach beyond the aquatic center.
"During the investigation, both juveniles confessed to committing the crimes."
Authorities also say the juveniles are suspected of involvement in several other incidents reported across the area earlier in the week. According to the sheriff’s office, those incidents include multiple alleged car burglaries and car thefts reported between Feb. 22 and Feb. 24.
The investigation remains ongoing as deputies work to determine the full scope of the reported crimes.
