The USDA Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit is looking for your feedback on a draft proposal for restoration after the Caldor Fire.

Public comments will be accepted on the proposal for the Caldor Fire Restoration Project for 30 days after the legal notice was published today in the Tahoe Daily Tribune.

The project looks to restore the health, forest resilience, and wildlife habitat in and around the areas that were damaged in the Caldor Fire.

The proposed activities would potentially reduce impacts from future wildfires; officials say without intervention, the area could take 30 years or more to recover.

To view the project and submit any comments, check out the proposal at the USDA Forest Service website.
