Organizers of the High School 5A Northern Nevada Girls Golf Regional Tournament are calling on community members to volunteer as scorers during the upcoming event at Eagle Valley East Golf Course.
Volunteers will be asked to serve as group monitors, keeping score for a group of three players during tournament rounds on two consecutive days.
Participation on both days is welcome, but people are also encouraged to sign up if they are only available for one.
Day 1 of the Regionals is set for Sept. 29, with tee times beginning at 11:30 a.m. Day 2 will follow on Sept. 30, also with an 11:30 a.m. start.
Volunteers will be provided with score sheets and, if desired, a golf cart. No rules or knowledge are required.
“It will be a great deal of fun scoring for you to watch some great players,” wrote event organizer Danielle Packer-Fleiner in a community message. “No rules will be required or asked to be given. Just keeping score for a group of 3, and a cart will be provided, if you are interested in one.”
Packer-Fleiner, who is also a teacher and coach, said she will respond to all messages within 24 hours.
