A scene unfolded Sunday afternoon after the Washoe County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) was in a standoff with someone barricaded inside a house.

In a release from WCSO, the initial call came in around 11:30 a.m. that 32-year-old Stephan Sallaz was seen at a known location on Dorchester Drive in Sparks.

Sallaz had a warrant out for his arrest, and it was reported that he had cut off his ankle monitor.

Officials made a visit to the house and saw Sallaz run inside, so they called in patrol and set up a perimeter around the house.

Due to the severity of Sallaz' charges, deputies evacuated the surrounding houses.

The WCSO SWAT Team, WCSO Hostage Negotiations Team, the WCSO Drone Team and the Regional Consolidated Bomb Squad were called to the scene just before 1:00 p.m.

Once a search warrant was issued for the house, crews moved inside and were able to locate Sallaz in a crawl space and take him into custody. He was booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility on a felony warrant, which includes charges of resisting a public officer with a deadly weapon.

No injuries were reported, and officials say there is no ongoing threat to the community.

WCSO says this remains an active investigation.
