The Washoe County Human Services Agency (HSA) is announcing the official reopening of the Washoe County Senior Center.
The reopening will be celebrated with a ribbon-cutting and a tour of the upgraded facility on Friday, May 16, starting at 10:00 a.m.
A $2.8 million remodel was recently completed on the center, which included upgrades to lighting, flooring, the kitchen and dining room - in addition to a remodeled library, restrooms and other improvements.
HSA has also unveiled a new healthcare option for seniors described as a 'clinic-in-a-box' - a new tech-enabled care delivery system called the "OnMed CareStation" that will provide hybrid care to seniors in Washoe County using high-definition audio-video technology.
The Home Means Nevada Art Exhibit will also be displayed at the reopened senior center over the next several weeks, courtesy of the Nevada Arts Council.
