One person dead after crash in cold Springs

December 18 update: 

The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the pedestrian who died after being hit by a car in Cold Springs earlier this month.

The crash happened just after 7 p.m. on December 6 near the intersection of White Lake Parkway and Sandpiper Drive.

The pedestrian, identified as 49-year-old Patricia Morgan of Reno, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner's Office, the death was ruled an accident caused by blunt force injuries from a pedestrian-vehicle collision.

Reno Police continue to handle the investigation into the crash. No additional information has been released.


December 7 update:

A pedestrian died after being hit by a car near White Lake Parkway and Sandpiper Drive.

The crash happened just after 7 P.M. December 6th. 

We're learning impairment is suspected in a deadly crash investigation out of Cold Springs.

According to the Reno Police, several pedestrians were crossing White Lake Parkway, where there was no crosswalk, when two of the pedestrians were hit by a car. 

One of the pedestrians hit died at the scene. The other pedestrian took themselves to the hospital, and their condition is unknown. 

Police suspect impairment was a factor in the crash. The driver stayed on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
