The Third Judicial District Court of the State of Nevada ordered on Friday that Lyon County hold a special election for two races after an error was discovered on the 2024 Primary Election ballot.
The error was related to the number of candidates the ballot stated people could vote for.
The two races are for Fernley City Council Ward 5 and Stagecoach General Improvement District (GID) Trustees.
The Lyon County Clerk will not release the results for the 2024 Primary Election for those two races.
The special election will be held on July 23.
Early voting will take place on July 20 and July 22. Folks can also vote through mail and Nevada's Effective Absentee System for Elections (EASE).
For Fernley City Council Ward 5, the ballot will state "Vote for One."
For the Stagecoach GID Trustees, the ballot will state "Vote for Three."
The following election day voting centers will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on July 23, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 20 and 22 for early voting:
Yerington – 27 S Main Street, Yerington, NV (Admin Complex)
Fernley - 595 Silver Lace Blvd, Fernley, NV (City Hall)
- Stagecoach – 8105 US 50, Silver Springs, NV (Old Fire Station and Community Center)
