A man found guilty of attacking a woman at Oxbow Park in 2022 will spend at least five years in prison.Â
The Washoe County District Attorney’s Office says a jury convicted 48-year-old Jeremiah Langford of kidnapping and battery in May 2024.Â
Prosecutors say he attacked a woman working trail maintenance at Oxbow Park in August 2022. They after she welcomed him to the park, he wrapped his arm around the victim’s neck, causing her to fight back with pruning shears. They say she ended up on her back, and Langford grabbed her leg, but she kept fighting and eventually Langford ran away.Â
Langford was sentenced to life in prison but will be eligible for parole after five years.Â
