Iran has offered to end its chokehold on the Strait of Hormuz without addressing its nuclear program. Two officials with knowledge of the proposal said Monday that Iran also wants the United States to ends its blockade of the country as part of its proposal. Oil prices are gaining Monday after negotiations between the U.S. and Iran stalled over the weekend and a standoff in the strait remained despite a ceasefire. Iran’s foreign minister is in Russia Monday to meet President Vladimir Putin as part of a trip that included two stops in Pakistan and a visit to Oman. Pakistan's leaders are working to bridge significant gaps between the two countries to revive the talks.
