New Hampshire primary voters are choosing candidates for Congress, governor and the state Legislature, with the retirement of U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen creating the most competitive races. Two Republicans hoping to replace the three-term Democrat are former senators she previously defeated: John E. Sununu and Scott Brown. The Democratic race includes U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas. His departure from the 1st Congressional District seat has led to a crowd of candidates seeking to fill it. Democratic incumbent Rep. Maggie Goodlander faces one primary challenger in the 2nd District, and Republican Gov. Kelly Ayotte faces two little-known opponents in her primary.
