President Donald Trump's ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, has resigned after allegations of improper conduct but says she’ll “vigorously defend” herself. The White House says Guilfoyle was asked to resign after coming under severe criticism over allegations she engaged in improper and possibly illegal conduct before and during her tenure in Athens. Guilfoyle’s departure on Tuesday comes after its possibility was previewed to The Associated Press over the weekend and Trump registered his unhappiness with reports about her alleged conduct on Monday. The Republican president was asked by reporters if he was considering firing Guilfoyle and said he was “looking at it” and was "not happy.”
