Closing arguments have ended in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy. The Massachusetts mother is accused of strangling her three young children in 2023. Clancy has pleaded not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility. Her lawyers argue she was experiencing postpartum psychosis when she killed the children. Her attorney told jurors Thursday that Clancy had been a loving mother before her mental health spiraled. Prosecutors say Clancy planned the killings and understood her actions were wrong. They told jurors that the case isn’t about the nation’s mental healthcare system or how it treats women.
