Police say a shooting outside the Republican Party of Virginia offices in Richmond Thursday is unrelated to the upcoming midterm elections. A woman was shot around 1:45 p.m. in front of the building. Richmond's police chief says the woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He also says she was an innocent bystander. A woman inside a nearby hair salon, now in custody, claims she fired in self-defense during a dispute. The chief financial officer for the Republican Party of Virginia says staffers were working inside when the shots were fired. The injured woman was brought inside the office before first responders arrived.
