Prosecutors say a visitor from Canada maliciously harmed a flamingo named Peachy at an iconic Las Vegas hotel when he snatched the bird from its enclosure earlier this year and brought it to his room in a drunken prank. Mitchell Fairbarn's defense attorney told jurors at trial Monday that his client regretted his actions and never intended the birdy any harm. Fairbarn of Ontario, Canada, is charged with two counts of animal cruelty in a Nevada court. Authorities allege he entered the flamingo habitat at the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel and Casino on March 3 and took Peachy.
