Extreme tropical weather has led to two deaths and widespread damage in Mexico. Authorities said Monday that Hurricane Simon was pounding the Pacific coast over the weekend, leading to the death of a 71-year-old man and a young girl. In Baja California, at least 10 people are missing, and a young girl died following tropical storm Rachel. Rachel weakened into a post-tropical cyclone as it moved north and buffeted Southern California with wind and rain. Forecasters issued flood watches and warned more rain and isolated thunderstorms could hit the Southwestern U.S. after the remnants of Rachel caused severe flooding in Las Vegas over the weekend.
