Vice President JD Vance has visited Iowa to promote the administration's tax and tariff policies while campaigning on behalf of Iowa Rep. Zach Nunn. Vance drew a contrast between the vulnerable House Republican and his Democratic challenger as he spoke at a steel manufacturing facility Tuesday. Vance acknowledged rising costs due to the war in Iran but assures that the administration is addressing these issues. This marks the first visit by Vance to the state that hosts the first nominating contest of the GOP presidential race. The vice president is seen as one of the GOP's strongest potential candidates for president in 2028.
