While the last bit of results are still coming in from the 2026 Nevada Primary Election, many of the nominees are already looking towards the November General Election.
The stage for the Nevada Governor's Race is now set.
Current Governor Joe Lombardo will take on Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford, who won the democratic nomination by a landslide.
The race is set to be one of the most competitive across the entire country.
Attack ads have already been thrown back and forth between the two, and more are surely set to come.
Lombardo says there is much more to accomplish.
Both Lombardo's and Ford's campaign sent a statement after their wins Tuesday night.
Ford believe it's time for Democrats to reclaim the seat, at an event hosted by the Culinary Union in Las Vegas.
"No more failed leadership in Carson City that lets jobs disappear while prices are soaring," he said to a crowd of passionate supporters. "No more healthcare slashed while families are struggling."
The race to replace Congressman Mark Amodei's seat is also hot topic.
Financial advisor and self-proclaimed "Trump Republican" David Flippo beat out former longtime state legislator James Settelmeyer.
Flippo released a statement after the win. In part it says, "I am proud to stand before you as the official Trump-endorsed Republican nominee for Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District. This victory belongs to you — the hardworking men and women of Northern Nevada who are tired of career politicians and ready to send a real fighter to Congress..."
"To President Trump — thank you for your endorsement and for your continued leadership of the America First movement. I will never let you down. Now the real fight begins. We haven’t earned anything yet — we will earn the full support of Northern Nevada by delivering real results in the general election. While my Democratic opponent Teresa Benitez Thompson embraces the radical left’s agenda – I call her "TBT-AOC"
Settelmeyer also released a statement following the loss.
Another former longtime state legislator, Teresa Benitez-Thompson won the Democratic primary for CD2.Â
"I'm very excited by the results," she said Tuesday night. "We had a philosophy we wanted to take our race and our message straight to the people, meet with as many people as we could, get the message out and it feels like that was well received so we are excited."
TBT is looking to make history. Since 1983, CD2 has only been a Republican seat.
"I'm going to put every single effort into flipping the seat and to winning this race," she said. "I know how to run a good field program. I know how to connect with voters. I know how to listen intently and try to make sure that people's needs are being met. So I think we've got a strong case to make to people about why we need to have change."
While most races nominate a person from each party to move on to the general election, one race was decided Tuesday night.
Sparks City Attorney Wes Duncan handedly beat out incumbent Washoe County District Attorney Chris Hicks.
Duncan will now become the county's top prosecutor in January.
"I'm just very thankful to the law enforcement community who really stood strong with us, also the grassroots of the Republican Party and the different groups, just having their support," he said.
Duncan says he'll work with Hicks in making the switch over.
"We have about a six month transition period," he said. "So I intend on assembling a transition team. I really believe that that good leaders listen first and foremost. And so I want to hear from stakeholders across our county and across our state about their ideas to make our community safe."
Hicks released a statement Wednesday afternoon reacting to the results.
