The Nevada Interstate 80 Middle Mile Project was recently approved by the Bureau of Land Management.

The approximately 404-mile-long buried fiber optic network is expected to significantly improve high-speed internet access across northern Nevada.

The project supports the goals of the MOBILE NOW Act and Executive Order 13821, both of which aim to expand affordable and reliable broadband access to all Americans.

According to the Nevada Governor’s Office of Science, Innovation and Technology (OSIT), the state is coordinating broadband planning, mapping, and procurement to ensure connectivity for schools, libraries, hospitals, clinics, and communities in line with national standards.
