Montezuma Gold exploration

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has approved the Montezuma Gold exploration project near Goldfield in Esmeralda County.

BLM says, the Kinross Gold Corporation may explore for gold by drilling on an expanded total of 250 acres within a 5,672-acre area.

Kinross is approved to construct roads and drill at up to 48 new drill sites. The project will employ a contractor workforce of about 60 employees over 10 years.

Projects like this support President Trump’s Immediate Measures to Increase American Mineral Production, according to BLM.

BLM officials also say, to boost domestic mineral production and reduce U.S. reliance on foreign minerals, enhance national security and create jobs.
