Carlin home

Elko's police department tells us its bomb squad responded to a report of explosives at a home in Carlin on Thursday.

Authorities say members of the bomb squad seized several blasting caps and fuse igniters. They transported them away from the house for disposal.

They warn residents that an untold amount of uncontrolled and improperly stored explosives are in our region due to a long history of mining and ranching.

If you believe you've found any such explosives, contact your local authorities.
