The victim of a deadly rollover crash last Friday has been identified as 58-year-old Leo Espinoza from Sparks.
Espinoza was the driver of the car involved.
The crash happened I-80 east near Gold Ranch just before 9 a.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates that Espinoza was driving too fast for road conditions at that time and lost control of the car.
The car rotated and struck the guardrail, then overturned and came to rest on its roof.
Espinoza succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash and was pronounced dead on-scene.
The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Northern Command West M.I.R.T (Multidisciplinary Investigation & Reconstruction Team) is investigating this crash.
This crash marks the Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol – Northern Command West's first fatal crash in the Northwest region for 2024.
