On Sunday Nevada Donor Network hosted a ceremony in honor of a woman who, after passing, gave the gift of sight to two people.
Alicia MacAleese passed away from cancer in 2021 at the age of 41, but she chose to donate her organs, and her corneas helped two people to see.
At the ceremony, MacAleese’s loved ones and friends will put the finishing touches on her floragraph, a portrait made from floral and natural materials.
The floragraph will then be displayed on the OneLegacy Donate Life Rose ParadeFloat during the 135th Rose Parade in January alongside others from all over the county who have given the gift of life through organ, eye, and tissue donation.
Nevada Donor Network honors local donor heroes that have made a difference in other people’s lives through the gift of organ, eye and tissue donation by highlighting them on the OneLegacy Donate Life Rose Parade Float each year.
