According to the Placer County Sheriff's Office, Monday, July 15, is Pet Fire Safety Day.
The Sheriff's Office wants to remind folks about some fire safety tips regarding pets:
- If you are away from your home, have a trusted neighbor check on your pets.
- Know where you will take your pets if you need to evacuate. This can be a boarding facility, a pet-friendly hotel, or a friend or relative's home.
- Microchip your pet and make sure your information is up to date.
- Build an emergency kit for your pet including food, water, medications and comfort items.
