The Placer County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a jet skier at Lake Tahoe that took place on Saturday, July 20 near Crystal Point.

The sheriff's office says two women were on one jet ski and it overturned. 

Both women were wearing life jackets, but they were in the lake for about an hour before a boat found them and took them to shore.

When they arrived at the beach, life-saving measures were performed on one of the women, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the woman who died will be released once the next of kin is notified.
