One man is in custody after a standoff in Sparks Tuesday night.
41-year old Sixto Guzman Jr. is facing multiple charges.
It happened on the 1500 block of I Street around 7:30 p.m. when officers got on scene and heard someone yelling inside the home.
Neighbors heard shots too, and told police they saw a man with a gun - later identified as Guzman - at the front door of the home.
Officers surrounded the house and tried to get him out of there, using the PA system on one of their patrol cars. This went on for nearly an hour - when police say Guzman came to the door with a shotgun, stepped onto the porch and fired a round into the ground in front of him.
Police say he ignored orders to drop the gun, went back inside and barricaded the door. That's when SWAT came in to help. At one point they found out there was a woman in the house - they were able to call her and she came outside and was released.
Just before ten, Guzman tried to get out of the house through a back window and jumped into a neighbors backyard where police were waiting for him.
Police say they found four guns in the house, so Guzman is facing felony charges of ex-felon in possession of a firearm, resisting an officer with a firearm, and firing a gun where people may be endangered.Â
Police say he hasn't been cooperative in what happened leading up to the initial shots being fired.Â
