A recent undercover sex sting operation in Reno netted five arrests.
Several law enforcement agencies including the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and the Reno Police Downtown Enforcement Team conducted the two-day sting last week targeting sex buyers with the help of an undercover female detectives at two locations.
During the operation, detectives say they contacted 15 men who solicited the undercover detective for sex, with money. Twelve of those men were issued for citations for solicitation, while three were arrested for solicitation but previous charges wouldn’t allow them to qualify for a citation.
Authorities say two others were arrested on pandering charges, including Shilo Walker and Delanious Tillis.
Authorities say one man, Zachary Roemer, solicited the undercover detective for sex, but when the officer contacted him, he would not comply, and physically resisted. Ultimately, he was arrested on a charge Obstructing and Resisting as well as Solicitation for Prostitution.
Other agencies that participated in the sting included the Regional H.E.A.T. (Human Exploitation and Trafficking) Detectives, Regional Sex Offender Notification Unit, Washoe County School District Police Department, UNR Police Department, and Reno PD’s Proactive Patrol Team 27.
