A jury has convicted a Reno man of child abuse and domestic battery.
The Washoe County District Attorney's Office says Steven McLaughlin was convicted of child abuse against his 12-year-old son, and domestic battery against his wife after a two-day trial.Â
The DA's office says he screamed at his child and hit him, which caused him to fall to the ground, in November 2022.
Prosecutors say the child's mother then tried to intervene but McLaughlin also threw items at her and yelled.
McLaughlin is scheduled to be sentenced on November 16th.Â
