The City of Reno has brought a new vibe with updated and modernized additions to the downtown Reno Riverwalk.

Several featured improvements to the Riverwalk include new lighting throughout the 3-mile loop, additional signage to navigate the area better, 30 pet waste stations, new outdoor furniture to create a cleaner, more modernized look, including added solar light features.

"The city of Reno's plan on the Truckee River has come to action in full swing," said Kathleen Taylor with the City of Reno. "We have new trash cans that have been branded, new pet waste stations, new lighting, and we have new paint throughout some of the Wingfield area park bridges, and fences."

The Truckee River Project aims to bring a new vibe to the city, not only creating a safer outdoor space for the community to enjoy but building off sustainability as well.

"There are 120 new light fixtures that have done in, and its's a combination of hard-wired lights in the areas, kind of more west and more solar lights on the eastern side, depending on the conditions of the trail," said Brynna Nichols, Senior Managment analyst for the City of Reno.

A variety of new additions have revitalized the entire area, helping to create a cleaner, safer and more inviting community for everyone to enjoy.
