A man suspected in a November 2023 homicide in north Reno has been arrested.

Reno Police Department Robbery Homicide Detectives, with the assistance of the Hayward, California Police Department, found and arrested Malik Coleman in Hayward, California.

Coleman had a warrant for open murder with a deadly weapon for a homicide that happened on North Virginia Street on November 16th of last year.

He is facing extradition to Washoe County.

Due to new charges, Secret Witness is now offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.

A woman has died from a gunshot wound in north Reno and Reno Police are investigating the incident as a homicide.

Police found the woman already deceased with a gunshot wound inside her apartment on Thursday, November 16 around 8:45 a.m..

Detectives from the Robbery Homicide Unit are investigating the case.

"There is no active threat to the community as the parties were known to each other and this was not a random act of violence," said Reno Police in a press release.

Detectives have a warrant for the arrest of Malik Coleman for his involvement in the incident. The warrant is for open murder with the use of a deadly weapon.

The suspect appears to have left the state.
