Tesla crash

A Tesla driver was killed after it plunged 300 feet down a hillside in El Dorado County on Tuesday. 

Authorities found the EV after the man's wife got alerts from the actual car about the crash. 

Authorities say the car sent out vague coordinates, but wreckage was eventually found north of Highway 50 near Outer Limits Road. 

There, crews found the unidentified man's body. Inside, they found two child booster seats, but the wife told them their children were safe at home. 

CAL FIRE, along with an El Dorado fire engines and fire medic all responded.Â
