The Salvation Army has opened its annual sign-ups for Christmas assistance for low-income families in Washoe County. Soon, The Salvation Army’s Angel Trees will begin showing up in local stores, giving generous people the opportunity to help make the holidays brighter for their neighbors in need.
Holiday assistance registration for toys for kids up to 16 years old will continue until Nov. 10, unless the program reaches maximum capacity prior to that date. Families are encouraged to register as soon as possible. Registration hours are 9 to 11:45 a.m., Monday to Friday, at The Salvation Army Reno Corps: 1931 Sutro Street, Reno, Nevada 89512.
In order to register, families should bring proof of residence, a month worth of paystubs for each income earning adult in the household, and a state ID for all adults. For minors, bring a physical copy of birth certificate, vaccination records or Medicaid card. For additional information, call 775-688-4555
