Two people have been arrested in a multi-state vehicle theft investigation.
On Tuesday Lyon County Sheriff’s Office deputies helped the Grass Valley Police Department in an active investigation involving a stolen travel trailer, according to a Facebook post from the Sheriff's Office.
During the investigation, a 2024 Forest River travel trailer was reported stolen with a value of $48,875. Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Deputies recovered the travel trailer in the area of Six Mile Canyon Road.
On Wednesday morning detectives with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit conducted a felony vehicle stop on a suspect vehicle identified during the investigation.
Evidence gathered during this stop resulted in the arrest of 35-year-old Dayton resident Justin McCorkle and 30-year-old Sun Valley resident Nicole Sandau.
McCorkle was booked into the Lyon County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle over $3,500, remove, deface, alter identification number, and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail has been set at $16,140.
Sandau was booked into the Lyon County Jail for possession of a controlled substance schedule I-IV and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bail has been set at $3,140.
