Ship disabled by attack in Strait of Hormuz and other news from around the Middle East

An oil tanker was disabled after being struck by an unknown projectile off Oman, underscoring shipping risks as Iran maintains tight control over the Strait of Hormuz. The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Organization on Tuesday said the crew is safe and no environmental damage was immediately reported. There were no immediate reports of any environmental impact from the attack. Oil spills from other ships damaged during the war have caused ecological damage concerns. Meanwhile, a Pakistani delegation has left Tehran after what officials called positive talks aimed at reopening the strait and ending the nearly six-month Iran-U.S. war.
