Regional officials tell The Associated Press that the U.S. and Iran are sending top negotiators to Pakistan for Round Two peace talks as a fragile ceasefire is set to expire. They say Pakistan-led mediators received confirmation that Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammed Bagher Qalibaf and U.S. Vice President JD Vance will arrive early Wednesday. But both sides have sent mixed messages. U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he expects “to be bombing,” and Qalibaf said Tehran has “new cards on the battlefield.” Meanwhile, U.S. forces in the Indian Ocean boarded an tanker ship sanctioned for smuggling Iranian oil. And Israel is punishing two soldiers for smashing a Jesus Christ statue in southern Lebanon.
